Between the years 15 and 13 B.C. Augustus ordered the founding of three new cities in the northwest of Hispania (Lucus Augusti, Bracara Augusta and Asturica Augusta). In his name, the legacy Paulo Fabio Máximo founded Lucus Augusti. With this, the romanization of the peninsular northwest was guaranteed. Communication nodes were also secured at one end of the empire and an epicenter was established for the administrative and economic management of the territory.
